Information about the call for applications for non-university hospitals

The application form
Helse Sør-Øst RHF has an electronic (web-based) application portal. Do not send paper copies of the application or any attachments to the research administration at Helse Sør-Øst RHF.

To create an application, the applicant should select the applicant institution and relevant category, and enter the title, name and e-mail address in the form below. Afterwards, you should press “create application” at the bottom right of this page.

After a few minutes, an e-mail will be sent to the selected e-mail address. This e-mail contains a link to the application form. If several people are contributing to the application, the link can be distributed between the collaborating partners for access to the form.

Available for funding in this call is 50 % scientific position for up to six years or running costs (max 600 000 NOK/year) for up to three years.

For work on the application, Internet Explorer (v. 9 or newer) and Google Chrome is recommended.

Felles forskningsutvalg (FFU), the joint research committee between St. Olavs Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine, NTNU manages research funds from the Central Norway Regional Health Authority.

The following call for proposals is announced:

  • Two-year research projects (up to NOK 1 million)
  • Researcher positions 50 % (up to 3 years duration)

Who can apply? 
Applications for research funding and positions can only be submitted by people employed at St. Olavs hospital - in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU, or Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU - in collaboration with St. Olavs hospital. Employees at NTNU Ålesund and NTNU Gjøvik are not eligible for applying.

You get access to edit your application via the link you receive when creating the application; this can also be shared with any partners. The application form is active until the submission deadline. It is not possible to edit your application after it has been submitted or to submit an application after the submission deadline.

Application deadline is Tuesday, June 1 at 3 pm.

If the host institution is not the same as the applicant institution (f.ex.a department at NTNU), a commitment form signed by your department head must be attached with the application.

For application to Felles forskningsutvalg there must always be attached a management commitment form signed by head of department.

The national programme for clinical therapy research, KLINBEFORSK, will contribute towards giving Norwegian patients improved opportunities to participate in clinical trials. Clinical therapy research focuses on inclusion of patients with the aim to improve current medical practices, including use of pharmaceuticals and medical technology, and / or development and evaluation of new ones. 

User involvement is mandatory for all applications to KLINBEFORSK. Recruitment of patients from all health regions should be facilitated, and the projects must include  clinical research collaborations between hospitals or private, non-profit hospitals in all four health regions.The principal investigator (applicant) and main collaborating partners (at least one per health region) should hold at least a 20% position in an applicant institution at the time of application and throughout the project period.

Søknader om midler til behovsidentifisert forskning - KLINBEFORSK - midler 2021Deadline: 30/04/2021 16:00:00

In the call for projects from KLINBEFORSK in 2021, priority will be given to applications related to studies within two areas of needs-identified research:

  • surgical treatment of lipedema
  • non-surgical treatment of children / adolescents with severe obesity

This category applies to applications involving studies within these two prioritized areas. All other applications should be submitted in category A: Project applications to KLINBEFORSK (thematically open call) – funding 2021.

Applications for research funding to the prioritized areas shall fulfill the intention of the programme plan. The priority follows from a decision made by the KLINBEFORSK programme board January 21st, 2021.

User involvement is mandatory for all applications to KLINBEFORSK. Recruitment of patients from all health regions should be facilitated, and the projects must include clinical research collaborations between hospitals or private, non-profit hospitals in all four health regions.The principal investigator (applicant) and main collaborating partners (at least one per health region) should hold at least a 20% position in an applicant institution at the time of application and throughout the project period.
