The goal of Helse Vest's research funding is to contribute to ensuring research activity among health providers, and to increase the productivity, the quality and impact for the health services. The research funds should serve as an incentive and an economic contribution to ensure research, and the development of research competance in health trusts.

- PhD fellowships
- Postdoctoral fellowships, including extension of postdoctoral fellowships for research stays abroad
- Clinical research fellowships
- Clinical career fellowships

Applications are assessed based on scientific quality and impact. In addition, there are requirements for mandatory elements in the application. Please consult the guidelines for each application category for more information regarding this. To prevent the application from being set aside, we encourage everyone to carefully read the the call for proposals and guidelines, as well as the common reasons for not being shortlisted.
Granting of the research funds will be decided at the Liaison Committee's (Samarbeidsorganet) meeting on the 26th of November 2025. The results will be announced on the Liaison Committee's website as soon as possible after the meeting.

Overordnede føringar slår fast at medisinske kvalitetsregistre med nasjonal status mellom anna skal nyttast til vitskapelege formål. Det er 22 medisinske kvalitetsregister med nasjonal status som er forankra i regionen. Det lyses derfor ut midlar til inntil 10 stipend for forskingsprosjekt som nyttar data frå eitt eller fleire medisinske kvalitetsregister med nasjonal status. Formålet med utlysinga er å auke forsking på data frå medisinske kvalitetsregister med nasjonal status forankra i regionen. Minst eitt av desse registera må derfor vere blant dei 22 kvalitetsregistera forankra i regionen. Midlane vest lyst ut som ein eingongsutlysing.
Data frå kvalitetsregister kan brukast på ulike måtar i forskingssamanheng. Det kan vere som grunnlag for kliniske utprøvingar, observasjonsstudiar eller registerbaserte randomiserte studiar.

Søkar må ha avlagt doktorgrad og vere tilsett ved eit helseføretak eller ein privat, ideell institusjon i regionen i minst 50 prosent stilling på søknadstidspunkt. Det kan søkast om stipend i inntil eitt år i 50 % stilling. Det vert tildelt ein rundsumsbevilgning på kr 675 000. Prosjektperioden er inntil 1 år.
Søkar kan ikkje sende inn fleire søknader til utlysinga.
Krav til søknaden
- Søknaden må falle innanfor formålet med utlysinga.
- Prosjektet skal nytte data frå eit medisinsk kvalitetsregister forankra i regionen. Dersom prosjektet nyttar fleire register, må minst eitt vere blant dei 22 registera som er forankra i Helse Vest.

- Prosjektet skal ha dokumentert leiarforankring.
- Prosjektet må ha ei tidsavgrensing på 1 år.
- Prosjektet må kunne starte opp innan 1. april 2026.

Søknadane blir vurdert på bakgrunn av det som blir lagt inn elektronisk søknadsskjema.
Registerkvalitet blir vurdert ut i frå ein stadieinndeling (stadium frå 1 til 4), der det for stadium 4 er krav om vitskapeleg bruk. Det er eit mål at alle register skal nå stadium 4. Gitt elles likestilte prosjekt ut i frå kriteria for vitskapeleg kvalitet og nytte, kan prosjekt som nyttar data frå register der data ikkje tidligare har vore brukt vitskapeleg, og som dermed ikkje er vurdert til stadium 4, vert prioritert.
Søknadar som ikkje oppfyller krava i utlysinga vil ikkje bli vurdert.
Vurdering
Ein vitskapeleg komité vurderer søknadene ut frå vitskapeleg kvalitet og klinisk nytte for spesialisthelsetenesta.
Rapportering
Det skal utarbeidast ein rekneskapsrapport. Ubrukte midlar kan berre unntaksvis overførast utover prosjektperioden og då etter særskilt grunngjeving. Søknad om overføring av midlar må sendast til Fagsenter for medisinske kvalitetsregister i Helse Vest seinast november året etter tildeling. Ubrukte midlar kan berre overførast ein gong.

- The project must have collaborators in all four health regions from at least one of the eligible institutions. The collaborators must be listed in the application form.

To create an electronic application form, select the applicant institution, application category, provide the title, name, and your email address in the form below. To be able to create an application form, you must have read and accepted the terms of the application process, and then click the "Create application form" button. An email will be sent to the provided address within a few minutes. The email contains a link to the application form.
If multiple people are collaborating to prepare an application, the person who creates the application can forward the email to collaborators to give them access.
All text in eSøknad must be written in English.
Avoid using @gmail addresses as they block the receipt of emails sent from eSøknad.
