Helse Vest RHF announces up to NOK 16 million in funding for innovation projects.
The call is open to employees in all health trusts and private non‑profit institutions within Helse Vest. The application deadline is 16 March 2026 at 23:59. All applications must be anchored and approved by the project owner’s clinic director/department head. The deadline for management approval is 23 March at 13:00. Funding decisions will be published before summer 2026. Please read the web pages of Helse Vest (Utlysning av midlar til innovasjon - Helse Vest RHF) and the evaluation criteria carefully before preparing your project application. Note that applications that do not meet the requirements of the call will be rejected. Applicants are strongly encouraged to develop the application in collaboration with the Research and Innovation Department in their health trust, and to contact other relevant stakeholders to ensure the quality of the application.
Funding is announced in two categories:
- New projects at your own health trust
- Idea transfer
To qualify for maximum funding in the category “New projects at your own health trust”, the project must involve collaboration between at least two health trusts in Helse Vest (does not apply to product innovation). The maximum funding from Helse Vest RHF is NOK 1.2 million in this category. Funding may be sought for the implementation of new ideas or for projects that have already started. Both large and small projects may apply. If the project is in an early phase, it may be appropriate to apply for a smaller amount (also applicable for product innovation).
For Idea Transfer, funding may be sought to adopt successful innovation solutions that have proven effective in other hospitals/health trusts, either within the Helse Vest region or nationally/internationally. This category is designed to support the dissemination of good innovations/solutions already in use in the healthcare service. The maximum application amount in this category is NOK 400,000.
If you wish to apply for funding in both categories, two separate applications must be submitted.
Once you have completed all required fields below, you will receive an email with a link to the application form. Although the link contains the term “forskningsmidler” (research funding), it also applies to this innovation funding call. The application is automatically saved, and the applicant may edit it until it is submitted. After submission, no further changes can be made.

Målet med Helse Sør-Øst sin satsning er å utvikle tjenester som er bedre for pasienter og for ansatte, og som ivaretar behovet for bærekraft. Det inkluderer bedre og lettere tilgjengelige tjenester for pasientene, bedre bruk av samlede ressurser, at personale får mer tid til pasientrettet behandling, bedre bruk av ansattes kompetanse.

The application form
To create an application form, select the applicant institution (a clinic at a health trust), application category (mobility grant), enter the project title, name and email address in the form below. Please select the appropriate applicant institution from the list of clinics within the health trusts in the region. Eligible institutions have already been added to the list. The correct applicant institution is the clinic where the applicant is employed or will be collaborating with.
An e-mail will automitivcally be sent to the head of clinic requesting confirmation of management commitment as the application is submitted. It is an absolute requirement that all applications for research funding from The Central Regional Health Authority Norge do have management commitment and participation fram a health trust in the region.
The host institution (i.e., the institution that will manage the project financially) must be indicated under "classification" in the application form. If the host institution is not the same as the applicant institution (f.ex.a department at NTNU), a commitment form signed by your department head must be attached with the application.
For application to Felles forskningsutvalg there must always be attached a management commitment form signed by head of department.
Select the correct application type. Make sure you have selected the correct call and correct application type before creating the application form.

Employees in at least a 20% position at a health trust in Helse Nord, or at a private institution/contracted specialist in the region, may apply for innovation funding. The application must be submitted through the institution that has the right to apply.
